An iconic façade

The new St. Regis Al Mouj Muscat redefines luxury hotel architecture in the Middle East. With its captivating curvilinear silhouette inspired by the movement of the sea, this five-star resort stretches along 360 meters of coastline in the prestigious Al Mouj district of Oman. From Tecsoled, we bring life and dynamism to its architecture through a high-performance, fully customized lighting system.

12 km of digital Silicone Neon Strip

The façade lighting of the St. Regis Al Mouj Muscat (the largest in the world) is a true feat of lighting engineering, integrating 12 km of Digital Silicone Neon Strip and 250 control units, precisely configured to follow the building’s curves with millimetric accuracy.

Architectural design and organic flow

The design of St. Regis is a statement of intent: its curvilinear façade is inspired by the waves of the Gulf of Oman and the fluidity of water, featuring a horizontal silhouette that enhances its organic and dynamic character. The complex also includes 162 branded residences and luxury apartments, which required a lighting design capable of adapting to different volumes and typologies while maintaining aesthetic coherence.

I+D: innovation serving architecture

Our R&D team worked closely with architects and engineers to develop specific solutions tailored to the demanding conditions of Oman’s coastal climate. A special extruded profile was designed to integrate seamlessly into the façade’s undulations, along with a custom mounting system for the Neon Strips and personalized control units that synchronize the different volumes—achieving an immersive and precise lighting experience.

ARTNET – DMX: communication and precision

The control infrastructure is based on the ArtNet protocol, which transmits DMX signals over IP networks, ensuring efficient communication between all points of digital lighting. The 250 control units manage the 12 km of Digital Silicone Neon Strip, allowing each section to be controlled individually or in groups to create dynamic scenes that respect the building’s organic architecture.

PHAROS: the heart of dynamic control

The Pharos system is the heart of the project’s dynamic lighting control, enabling the design, programming, and management of complex lighting shows that adapt to special events, specific schedules, and client needs. Thanks to this powerful platform, fluid and immersive sequences are created, enhancing the building’s wave-like forms and delivering a visually striking result perfectly integrated into its surroundings.
